Narrated by singer-songwriter Devendra Banhart, The Existential Adventures of Tim Maia: Nobody Can Live Forever is the story of Tim Maia, possibly the greatest (and craziest) soul singer you never heard of.

Created in a close collaboration between creative digital agency SuperHeroes Amsterdam, creative production agency ShopAround and record label Luaka Bop, this animated biography has been made to celebrate the release of Luaka Bop’s Nobody Can Live Forever: The Existential Soul of Tim Maia, a re-mastered fifteen-track survey of Maia's 1970s recordings.

Shop illustrators Momo and Sprits created all the artwork in their signature lively retro illustration style, while Fred Huergo, Zoltan Korai and David Schagerström animated the film.

Infamous in Brazil, Maia was a soul grenade that exploded in the 70s. He single-handedly revolutionized Brazilian popular music and had the best time ever doing it. His story is one of humorous excess in every way imaginable with something for all the family: drugs, women, money, guns and even a UFO cult thrown in.
