Sony Eyeing Animated Popeye in 3-D

VARIETY reports that Sony Pictures is developing a CG-animated POPEYE in 3-D, to be made by Sony Pictures Animation, with Imageworks handling the CG. Avi Arad (SPIDER-MAN) is producing and former VARIETY journalist Mike Jones is negotiating to write the script.

According to Arad, all of the iconic characters from E.C. Segar's comic strip will be featured, including Olive Oyl, Swee'Pea, Wimpy and Bluto.

It's was really nice to see them in 2D now it will be amazing to see them in 3D...when we can get to see them?
