Shutter Island Stays Strong

SHUTTER ISLAND grabbed the top spot for the second week at the box office over the weekend, Feb. 26-28, earning $22.6 million for Paramount. COP OUT came in second for its first week, earning $18.2 million for Warner Bros.

THE CRAZIES grabbed the third spot and $16 million for Overture. AVATAR stayed strong in its 11th week with $13.7 million and the #4 spot for Fox.

PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS: THE LIGHTNING THIEF earned almost $9.6 million and the #5 spot for Fox.

VALENTINE'S DAY came in sixth for its third week, earning $9 million for Warner Bros. DEAR JOHN landed the #7 spot and $4.8 million while THE WOLFMAN earned nearly $4.3 million and the #8 spot for Universal.

THE TOOTH FAIRY grabbed the #9 spot and $3.4 million for Fox. CRAZY HEART rounded ou the top ten, earned $2.5 million.
