Game publisher Sega will restructure its Western operations, which will end up cutting jobs and move the company toward digital distribution, reports MCVUK.com. A total of 73 will be cut with 37 coming from the London office and 36 from the San Francisco location. San Fran will become the Digital Division, while London will focus on packaged games. The move is an internal one for the Western operations and not one demanded from Japanese parent Sega Sammy Holdings.

Sega has found success with games for iPhones and iPads and will continue to pursue that market aggressively. Additionally, online distribution channels such as Steam and Direct2Drive are becoming a growing part of the company’s future.
