The Weinstein Co. has settled the $3 million lawsuit by producer Cathy Konrad, who claims she was shut out of SCREAM 4 after having produced the first three films in the series, writes The Hollywood Reporter. Though the terms of the agreement have not been released, insiders say the Weinsteins are playing Konrad cash and a tiny backend percentage.

Konrad had a $550,000 pay-or-play contract for SCREAM 3. She also received four $100,000 bonuses for various box office landmarks.

Konrad claimed that she was left out of the production to lower costs and allow them to bring Wes Craven's wife on as a producer instead.

Just checking IMDB Scream 1 and 4 have received 7.2 stars which is very good. I'm curious why Scream 2 and 3 turned out so badly?
