Uri Geller, world-renowned psychic entertainer and author, has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles federal court against Nintendo for unauthorized use of his name on Pokemon cards and related materials. The lawsuit demands that the Koyto, Japan-based company stop using Geller as a character on its Pokemon cards and pay substantial general and punitive damages. In addition to Nintendo's unauthorized use of Geller's identity, name and his signature image of a bent spoon, Gellar also contends that the Pokemon Geller character is inflammatory due the lighting bolts on its chest which are similar to the Nazi SS army's symbol. Geller said, ``Nintendo turned me into an evil, occult Pokemon character. Nintendo stole my identity by using my name and my signature image of a bent spoon. I'm filing this lawsuit against Nintendo, not only to protect my name, but also, to tell the world before the start of the Holiday Season that I have nothing whatsoever to do with these violent characters that have a negative impact on children.''
