If the honey jar don’t fit you must… In another twist to the legal battle between WINNIE THE POOH U.S. rights holders the Slesinger family versus Walt Disney Co., the Slesingers have hired O.J. Simpson’s criminal trial lawyer Johnnie Cochrin – their ninth lawyer, reported the Associated Press. In mid October, the law firm Jones Day stepped down from the case after less than five months on the 12-year long case, because the family could no longer afford its services.

The heirs of Stephen Slesinger allege that Disney miscalculated royalties from the sales of Pooh merchandise, owing them millions. They have even presented evidence in the case that Disney shredded documents that could be relevant to their argument. Disney has denied the charges and has made court movements to block the shredded documents from appearing in the trial.

In another ironic twist to the case, Cochrin will be facing O.J. Simpson’s civil trial lawyer Daniel Petrocelli, who represents Disney.
