Independent character animation and design studio Persistent Peril was approached by UK record label Full Time Hobby to direct a music video for The Leisure Society’s “Fight for Everyone.”

In the charming short, a god-like hand uses touch-screen gestures such as pinches and swipes to create life on a little blue-green planet. Utilizing a bold, colorful and playful illustrative style, along with a mischievous sense of humor, miniature animated destruction ensues when things don’t go quite as planned.

The animation was created frame by frame in Adobe Flash so the Persistent Peril team could re-draw and test animation quickly. A few shots have little flourishes (such as the school of fish) which were created in After Effects.

“We knew we needed to come up with something a little bittersweet, complimenting the energy of the track,” said Persistent Peril co-founder Garth Jones. “We love setting limitations and so kept to a reduced color palette to try and give the video a bold illustrative style which would be fun to animate.”
