Press release from Entertainment One Family:

PeppaPig

LONDON, UK -- As Peppa Pig continues to capture the hearts of audiences worldwide, Entertainment One Family (eOne Family) reveals that it has partnered with Disney Junior to broadcast the popular pre-school show on its TV channels in Italy and Spain this year.

The award-winning animation series already has a strong following amongst children in Spain and Italy where it achieves exceptional ratings on free to air channels RTVE and RAI respectively and the agreement with Disney Junior further cements the popularity of Peppa Pig in these territories.

Joss Duffield, Head of International TV Sales for Entertainment One Family comments, “The deal with Disney Junior demonstrates our commitment to working with world class broadcast partners and underlines our strategy to secure broadcasters for Peppa Pig in all major territories to ensure the success of the brand internationally.”

Plans are underway to launch Peppa Pig merchandise in Spain at the end of this year with 15 licensing partners on board including Bandai in addition to apparel and publishing partners. In Italy, eOne is lining up a strong roster of licensees including Universal as the brand’s DVD partner and Giunti Editores for publishing.

The agreement with Disney Junior is one of a series of acquisitions brokered recently by eOne to strengthen Peppa Pig’s broadcast output in major global territories.
