Paranormal Activity Continues to Surge at Box Office
Paramount's PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, now its fourth week, surged to #1 for the weekend, Oct. 23-25, raking in $22 million. Saw VI came in at #2 for its opening weekend, earning $14.8 million for Lionsgate.
WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE brought in $14.4 million at #3 for Warner Bros. in its second week. Overture's LAW ABIDING CITIZEN came in #4 in its second week, earning $12.7 million.
COUPLES RETREAT raked in $11.1 million and the #5 spot for Universal in its third week. ASTRO BOY from Summit came in #6, earning $7 million. THE STEPFATHER came in #7 in its second week, earning $6.5 million.
Universal's CIRQUE DU FREAK: THE VAMPIRE'S ASSISTANT earned $6.4 million and the #8 slot in its opening weekend. CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, now in its sixth week, dropped to #9 and brought in $5.6 million over the weekend. Sony's ZOMBIELAND earned $4.3 million for Sony in its fourth week and rounded out the top 10.

Paranormal Activity has scared many people. In fact, when my 18 year old daughter went to see it she immediately went home and read the Bible. That could be considered a positive effect.
