When the final weekend box office numbers came in late Monday, KICK-ASS emerged from the smoke as the winner, changing early news that HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON had returned to the top spot in its fourth week in theaters. KICK-ASS’s final numbers were $19.8 million with DRAGON’s just shy of that total at $19.6 million. The same late Monday shuffle happened last week when it appeared at first that DATE NIGHT won its opening weekend, but when the final numbers were announced CLASH OF THE TITANS had claimed the top spot for a second week.
