Bat for Lashes

NEW YORK -- Hornet mixed-media director and stop-motion specialist Peter Sluszka was recently tapped to direct a music video for “Lilies,” the fourth single from the UK's Bat For Lashes from the acclaimed album The Haunted Man.

The video features life-sized puppets, a flock of 2D spirits, miniature landscapes, morphing polygons, and Bat for Lashes’ Natasha Khan, all of which were animated to create a universe in constant flux.

Teeming with spectral visions, Sluszka conjures a mysterious landscape for Natasha. Bat for Lashes’ cryptic lyrics become an incantation, unleashing a trio of curious puppets, torrents of wax and paper ocean, and numerous other animated spectacles. Pulsing cloud contraptions, blasting lightning and energy initiate Natasha's otherworldly transformations.
