Just over a month before its original premiere date of June 29, Paramount Pictures has pushed G.I. Joe: Retaliation to March 29, 2013, in order to convert the film into 3D, according to a report by Deadline Hollywood.

Starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Bruce Willis, and Channing Tatum, the sequel just had a splashy showcase at the movie exhibitor conference CinemaCon, and posters for the film have been appearing in movie theaters for weeks.

“We’re going to do a conscientious 3D job because we’ve seen how it can better box office internationally,” a studio executive tells Deadline. “Jim Cameron did all of Titanic‘s 3D in post — and look how well that movie turned out.”

On the heels of Paramount’s announcement, Universal announced that the Mark Wahlberg comedy Ted will move from July 13 (the weekend between The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises) to G.I. Joe: Retaliation‘s old release date of June 29.
