Fox will partner with DreamWorks to finance Steven Spielberg's adaptation of Daniel H. Wilson's novel ROBOPOCALYPSE, writes The Hollywood Reporter. Disney will release the film in the U.S. and Fox internationally.

Exploring the fate of the human race following a robot uprising, ROBOPOCALYPSE has been adapted for the screen by Drew Goddard. DreamWorks acquired the rights to Wilson’s unpublished manuscript back in November 2009.

The sci-fi epic is set for release on July 3, 2013.
