Aaron Blaise (BROTHER BEAR) has been hired as the first director at Digital Domain Florida, reports VARIETY. He will be reviewing projects to add to DD's animation development plans.

Digital Domain is planning to develop eight to 10 projects this year and have one into production by the end of 2010.

Additionally, DD has tapped Pixar's former shorts producer Karen Dufilho who will also be looking for projects and talent.

Florida granted Digital Domain $20 million to build the Port St. Lucie-based studio, which is planned to be open in time to work on the first animated feature.
