China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) has revealed that animation production in the county rose 28% in 2010, reports Variety. Chinese animation firms created 220,530 minutes for 385 toons last year. State-run animation companies made 80% of the cartoons. Over the past few years, China has made big moves to build local production. Imported cartoons are still the most popular, despite regulations that put them on at odd hours. SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS cannot be stopped.
