CAKE Appointed Distributor Of Pocoyo

LONDON, UK (September 15, 2011): Leading kids’ and family entertainment specialist, CAKE has been appointed as the distributor of multiple award-winning series, Pocoyo by global content creator and brand manager, Zinkia Entertainment. CAKE will be responsible for distributing the property to territories around the world excluding Spain, Latin America, the U.S., Italy, China and Portugal which Zinkia will continue to handle.
Under the terms of the agreement, CAKE will now handle all television and DVD rights to the entire Pocoyo library, which consists of 156 x 7 minute episodes, plus a 25 minute special. The company will also debut season three Let’s Go Pocoyo (52x7’), which recently completed production, at MIPCOM 2011. Pocoyo currently airs on television channels in over 150 territories around the world, including in the U.S., Nick Jr., Univision’s Planeta U and select PBS stations, as well as Televisa (Mexico), TVE (Spain), RAI 2 (Italy), ABC (Australia), WowWow (Japan), and Nick Junior (France).
Let’s Go Pocoyo continues to embody the core philosophy of the series, encouragingchildren to ‘Learn through Laughter,’ while also introducing a new, more stylised format and incorporating fresh and innovative content. Zinkia has created a multi-layered approach to the series with a dominant music theme,designed to appeal to a more media savvy generation of 3-6 year olds. Each structured episode begins with a themed adventure, which introduces new vocabulary, followed by Pocoyo and friends having fun with a range of topics such as numbers, colours, shapes animals and words. Each episode ends with a musical journey that recaps the topics covered in that episode.
