Twilight: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2 topped the worldwide weekend box office with a $340.9 million opening, including $141.3 million domestically and $199.6 million internationally. Breaking Dawn 2 has pushed Lionsgate, which merged with Summit this year, past the $1 billion mark in ticket sales for the first time.

In second place, Sam Mendes' Skyfall finished its second weekend in theaters with a worldwide total of $669.2 million to become the top-grossing James Bond feature of all time. Starring Daniel Craig, Skyfall brought in $41.5 million in its second weekend domestically, while overseas the film has earned $507.9 million for partners MGM, Eon Productions and Sony.

Steven Spielberg's historical drama Lincoln, which saw a limited debut last weekend, came in third place, taking in $21 million for a total of $22.4 million.

Disney Animation Studios' Wreck-It Ralph continued to be a box-office hit, coming in fourth place on its third weekend out, and earning $18.3 million for a domestic total of $121.5 million.

Paramount's awards hopeful Flight, directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Denzel Washington, came in fifth in its third weekend out, earning $8.6 million for a total of $61.3 million.

Ben Affleck's Argo grossed $4.1 million to place number six. The Warner Bros. feature has earned $92 million domestically.

Taken 2, from 20th Century Fox and EuropaCorp, placed number seven on the charts, earning $2.1 million for a domestic total of $134.6 million.

Universal musical comedy Pitch Perfect placed number eight on its eighth weekend out, earning $1.3 million for a total of $62 million.

Sony family comedy Here Comes the Boom came in ninth place, making $1.2 million on its sixth weekend out for a total of $41 million.

Two films round out the list at number 10: Cloud Atlas, directed by Lana Wachowski, Andy Wachowski and Tom Tykwer, brought in $900,000 on its fourth weekend at the box office for a total of $24.9 million; Sony’s animated feature Hotel Transylvania brought in $900,000 at its eighth weekend out for a total of $142.7 million.
