Brave, continuing Pixar's unblemished record of opening its movies at number one, opened to a whopping $66.7 million at the domestic box office this weekend -- the fifth-best debut for a Pixar title. Overseas, the Disney/Pixar 3D feature debuted to $13.5 million.

DreamWorks Animation and Paramount holdover Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted fell to number two in its third weekend with $20.2 million for a domestic total of $157.6 million. Overseas, Madagascar 3 remained at number one for the third weekend in a row, bringing in $30.1 million to speed past the $200 million mark. The animated feature has now earned $208.4 million internationally for a worldwide total of $366 million.

Fox's 3D R-rated Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter came in third place, bringing in a soft $16.5 million in its opening.

Ridley Scott's sci-fi epic Prometheus came in fourth place this weekend, the film’s third week out, bringing in $10 million at the domestic box office for a total of $108.5 million.

1980s jukebox musical Rock of Ages came in fifth place, earning $8 million over the film’s second outing for a total of $28.8 million.

Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman placed number six in its fourth weekend out, bringing in $8 million for a total of $137.1 million.

In seventh place, Adam Sandler's R-rated That's My Boy brought Sony $7.9 million on its second weekend at the box office for a total of $28.2 million.

Disney and Marvel’s The Avengers came in at number eight, bringing in $7 million, with a total of $598.3 million.

In ninth place, Sony's Men in Black 3 earned $5.6 million for a domestic total of $163.3 million.

Rounding out the list at number 10, Focus Features’ Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, starring Steve Carell and Keira Knightley, brought in $3.8 million on its debut weekend.
