Bristol, UK -- Aardman has secured nine new TV and DVD deals for Walker Productions and JAM Media’s preschool series, Tilly and Friends. Having been appointed distribution partners for the brand in 2011, Tilly has now launched in over 10 territories and is set to charm new audiences across the globe in 2013.

Exciting new TV deals have been struck with CBeebies for their Asian, Polish and African feeds, DRTV Denmark, RUV Iceland, THAI PBS Thailand, Trevano in the Ukraine, Ceska TV in the Czech Republic, MTVA in Hungary and HOP TV in Israel. SF NORGE have also signed up to provide a DVD home for Tilly and Friends in Scandinavia.

Broadcasters have acquired the 52 x 11’ animated show based on the picture book series by award-winning author/illustrator Polly Dunbar and published by Walker Books in the UK. The series which is aimed at 3-5 year olds and follows the adventures of Tilly and her adorable friends, has proved hugely popular on CBeebies where it premiered last Autumn.

Alix Wiseman, Head of Sales and Acquisitions for Aardman Rights, says, “We are huge fans of this adorable show at Aardman and the team is looking forward to closing further deals at MIP TV in Cannes this April.”

Julia Posen, EVP and Commercial Director, Group Rights and Development Division, Walker Books adds “Tilly and Friends continues to be met with such positive reactions around the world. It’s fantastic to see so many broadcasters in so many territories realising the potential for this beautiful and original series, and the many opportunities this brand presents.”
