Buena Vista Plans Chicken Little & Narnia Games

Buena Vista Games has announced that it is developing a videogame based on Walt Disney Pictures' first fully animated 3D feature film, CHICKEN LITTLE and live-action epic CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE. The games will be published by Disney Interactive for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, handheld and PC platforms. The first CHICKEN LITTLE title is slated for debut in summer 2005 to coincide with the release of the film in theaters. The first NARNIA game will hits shelves in fall 2005.

"CHICKEN LITTLE marks Buena Vista Games' first simultaneous multi-platform, self published videogame series," said Graham Hopper, svp/gm of Buena Vista Games. "The videogame vividly brings the film's characters to life and gives players a chance to explore the 3D world of CHICKEN LITTLE."

Regarding the NARNIA game, Hopper said "Given the truly unique, creative nature of the story, we see it as especially suited for a spectacular translation to game consoles and something that the millions of Narnia fans and gamers worldwide will love."

"The opportunity to work closely with the videogame production team at the same time we're creating the film is very exciting," said director Andrew Adamson. "I'm looking forward to watching both projects come to life. Through the videogame, fans will be able to re-open the wardrobe countless times to revisit the magical world of Narnia and all of its characters and environments."

The CHICKEN LITTLE game will put players into the middle of Oakey Oaks, Chicken Little's hometown. Taking on the roles of Chicken Little and his friends Abby Mallard, Runt-of-the-Litter and Fish-out-of-Water, players must try to outwit bully Foxy Loxy and save the town from an alien invasion. Disney Interactive's game will feature innovative gadgets, pickups, side-quests and mini-games as well as multiplayer gameplay. In addition, each game version will incorporate clips from the movie.

The LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE game will follow the plot of the film, which chronicles Lucy, Susan, Edmund and Peter's trip to Narnia where they aid the magnificent lion Aslan against the White Witch's forces of darkness. The film is scheduled for release Christmas 2005.
