Editor, compositor and vfx artist Mark Repasky has joined the creative staff at Broadway Video. Repasky, who arrives from the Creative Group, New York City, brings sterling credits in short-form media including work for Showtime, Time-Warner, VH1, CBS and Matrix.
Repasky's arrival is actually a return, as he formerly held a staff position at Broadway Video from 2005 to 2006. "Mark is a very talented artist and an excellent creative collaborator," said Broadway Video senior editor Yossi Kimber. "He is an editor's editor-someone you can go to for ideas. He is also interested in technology and is always working to better himself."
Repasky will work out of a newly-upgraded Flame/Smoke suite. The facility has added Autodesk's latest, Linux-based software to the visual effects and finishing systems for enhanced productivity, better integration with other post production systems and support for Panasonic P2MXF, QuickTime and other new media formats. Repasky will also have the latest version of FinalCut Pro available in his suite.
Repasky began his career as an editor with Magno Video, New York, and added visual effects to his skill set during his first stint at Broadway Video. He has also worked through Blink FX and ABC Sports. "I like to work on projects that combine design, editing and animation so that I can do it all," said Repasky. "I like the environment at Broadway Video and the improvements they have made. It's an opportunity to get my hands on interesting, multi-dimensional projects. It's a great fit."
Repasky added that he is also impressed with the environmental and creature comfort improvements at the facility. "The studio has the look of a high end boutique," he said. "It is well appointed with comfortable rooms. The lobby is fantastic, decorated with one of a kind artwork and photographs, and offering a spectacular view of Times Square." Repasky has gotten off to a quick start in his return with a marketing campaign for Showtime and promos for MTV and Bloomberg.
