British Trio Starts Corsham Entertainment

Corsham Entertainment, a new TV and film production company in the U.K., has been formed by Oscar-winning Gary Kurtz (producer of AMERICAN GRAFFITI, STAR WARS, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and DARK CRYSTAL), Richard Bazley (a lead animator on Disneys HERCULES and POCAHONTAS plus Warner Bros.' OSMOSIS JONES and THE IRON GIANT), and writer Alastair Swinnerton (co-creator of THE BASKERVILLES and LEGOs BIONICLE).

The trio plan to initially develop, produce and co-produce animated and live-action films and TV series. Swinnerton is closing his BA20 Entertainment and transferring his properties over to Corsham. Among them is the John Coates exec produced Christmas special JACK FROST and the Wagner/Grant/Kennedy CGI action adventure series TERRANOIDS. Kurtz and Bazley bring with them a 2D animation feature.

Corsham Entertainment gets its name from the location of Bazleys studio within the Bath Studios complex at Corsham, Wiltshire, which will be Corsham Entertainments production base. Corsham Entertainment intends to animate many of its productions in-house, drawing on the area's considerable wealth of animation talent, according to the principals, with the exception of those projects already under co-pro agreements.
