British Animation Awards (BAA): Monday, March 11 - Sunday, March 17, 2002, London, England. Entry Deadline: Friday, November 30, 2001. The British Animation Awards has 19 categories including two for international entries: International Award for Short Film and Best European Feature. Entry is Free for International Award categories. UK only categories are: Best Pre-school Series, Best Childrens Series, Best TV Special, Childrens Choice, Best Student Film, Best Short Film, Film at the Cutting Edge, Most Creative Use of New Technologies/New media, Best Animated Commercial: Direction, Best Animated Commercial: Craft/Animation , Best Scenario, Best Comedy Series, Best Music, Video, Craft Award. All preview tapes should be entered on VHS. Showprints ie those for public screening should be preferably 35mm, but 16mm and Beta SP are permissable. Deadline for entries is 30 November 2001. Shortlisted films are screened at the National Film Theatre prior to the Awards on March 15. Finalists for the two international categories are offered three nights accommodation in London.
