Brenda Freeman VP Consumer Marketing at VH1

Brenda Freeman joins VH1 as vp of consumer marketing, overseeing all off-channel marketing for the company. She will work closely with many facets of VH1 including the integrated marketing, ad sales, research and press groups to maximize consumer awareness of VH1's networks, platforms and initiatives.

"Brenda is an innovative strategist and accomplished brand builder who brings a variety of experiences to her latest challenge," said Nigel Cox-Hagan, svp, creative and consumer marketing, VH1, to whom Freeman reports. "We are very fortunate to have this fantastic individual helming our stellar, hardworking consumer marketing team.

Freeman was vp, affiliate marketing, entertainment group for MTV Networks, responsible for implementing marketing strategy around affiliate efforts in brand promotion, distribution support and local ad sales promotional support for Spike TV, Nickelodeon, Noggin, Nick GAS, NickToonsTV, Nick at Nite and TVLand.

Before MTV Networks, she was exec director of marketing and special events for ABC Radio Networks, where she set the brand and marketing strategy for the total urban business in the company.

Before joining ABC Radio Networks, Freeman held a number of strategic marketing and product development and management positions for Frito-Lay and Pepsi-Cola, both divisions of PepsiCo. She also was a marketing, operations and financial exec for Mobil Oil in its consumer retail and distribution businesses.
