THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN — PART 1 left no doubt of its box office dominance, debuting in first place with $138.1 million. The first-half of the TWILIGHT finale has vfx from Comen VFX, Halon Entertainment, Legacy Effects, Lola Visual Effects, Method Studios, Modus Fx, Pixel Magic, Soho VFX, Tippett Studio and Wildfire Visual Effects.

Warner Bros.' HAPPY FEET TWO premiered in a distant second, dancing away with $21.2 million.

Relativity Media's IMMORTALS fell from first to third in its second week. With vfx from ReThink VFX, ScanlineVFX, 3DRevolution, BarXseven, Christov Effects and Design, Comen VFX, Image Engine Design, Modus Fx, NeoReel, Proof, Rodeo FX, The Third Floor, Tippett Studio and XYZ-RGB, the Greek mythical epic added $12.4 million to its $53.1 million cume.

Sony's JACK AND JILL rolled down the hill into fourth place, earning $11.7 million. With vfx from Atomic Fiction, Method Studios, Pixel Liberation Front and Wildfire Visual Effects, the Adam Sandler comedy has total receipts equaling $40.8 million.

DreamWorks Animation's PUSS IN BOOTS scratched its way into fifth with $10.8 million. The animated adventure has amassed $122.4 million to date.

Universal's TOWER HEIST smuggled $7.11 million out of the sixth slot. With vfx from Gravity, Phosphene, Method Studios and Stella VFX, the crime laugher has scored a total of $53.5 million.

Warner Bros.' J. EDGAR arrested the seventh slot, taking in $5.93 million. With vfx from Lola Visual Effects and Method Studios, the FBI director biopic has a cume of $20.7 million.

New Line's A VERY HAROLD & KUMAR 3D CHRISTMAS smoked $2.9 million in eighth place. With stop-motion animation from HOUSE Special and vfx from Ingenuity Engine, Behold 3D, Furious FX and Tyrrell FX & Rentals, the stoner holiday comedy has brought in $28.3 million to date.

Fox's IN TIME counted another $1.71 million in ninth place. With vfx from Luma Pictures, Soho VFX and Wildfire Visual Effects, the sci-fi actioner has a cume of $33.5 million.

Rounding out the top ten, Fox Searchlight's limited release, THE DESCENDANTS, earned $1.19 million on only 29 screens.
