Brandon Lane to Develop for 9 Story Ent.

Multi-award-winning independent producer 9 Story Entertainment has expanded its development team with the appointment of Brandon Lane as Development Executive, it was announced by CEO Vince Commisso.

Toronto, Canada (February 7, 2011) – Multi-award-winning independent producer 9 Story Entertainment has expanded its development team with the appointment of Brandon Lane as Development Executive, it was announced by CEO Vince Commisso.

Reporting to Vice President Development Liliana Vogt, Lane is charged with sourcing and developing animation concepts for audiences aged pre-school to tween, in order to build a robust slate of kids’ series for the company.

“Brandon Lane is a vibrant young talent whose early accomplishments surpass those of many of his more tenured peers in the industry.. We are excited to have him join our team and anticipate that his talent and drive will contribute to dramatic growth of our children’s programming slate,” said Commisso.

Brandon Lane began his career in entertainment at the age of 15, when he wrote his first award-winning play. The plays he wrote and co-wrote over the next three years went on to win 16 awards at the prestigious Sears Drama Festival.

At the age of 18, after training in “Commedia Dell’Arte,” he officially became a “Court Jester” at Niagara Falls’ Marineland, where he wrote the 15-minute silent one-man show which he performed for thousands of children a day as the opening act for the famous Killer Whale presentation. Lane received an Honours BFA from York University in Film Production and Screenwriting, as well as a Post-Graduate Certificate from the inaugural class of Centennial’s “Children’s Entertainment: Writing, Production and Management” programme.

He also created, wrote, produced and directed Alfredo Tomato, a musical pre-school comedy starring Fraggle Rock/Mighty Jungle veteran puppeteer Mike Petersen. Alfredo Tomato is currently available on DVD.
