Box Office Sings For A Christmas Carol

A CHRISTMAS CAROL raked in $30 million for Buena Vista and the #1 slot in its opening weekend, Nov. 6-8. MICHAEL JACKSON'S THIS IS IT came in at #2 for Sony in its second weekend, earning $13.2 million. Overture's THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS came in #3 for its first week, earning $12.7 million.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL raked in $30 million for Buena Vista and the #1 slot in its opening weekend, Nov. 6-8. MICHAEL JACKSON'S THIS IS IT came in at #2 for Sony in its second weekend, earning $13.2 million. Overture's THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS came in #3 for its first week, earning $12.7 million.

THE FOURTH KIND from Universal earned $12.2 million and the #4 spot in its first week. Paramount's PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, now its seventh week, continued to hold strong at #5 for the weekend, earning $8.3 million.

THE BOX from Warner Bros. earned $7.6 million and the #6 spot in its first week. COUPLES RETREAT raked in $6.1 million for Universal and the #7 spot. Overture's LAW ABIDING CITIZEN dropped to eighth after coming in third last weekend, earning $6 million.

WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE brought in $4.2 million at #9 for Warner Bros. in its fourth week. ASTRO BOY from Summit rounded out the top 10, earning $2.6 million.

CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, now in its eighth week, dropped to #15 and brought in $1.3 million over the weekend. Sony's ZOMBIELAND also earned $1.3 million for Sony in its sixth week.
