Bob Bacon New EVP of Walt Disney Feature Animation

Bob Bacon has been appointed to the newly created position of evp of Walt Disney Feature Animation overseeing all areas of production as well as technology including areas of software development, systems, media and technical support.

Additionally, he is responsible for finance, planning and accounting functions for the Studios animated film projects including Disneys first all CG hit film CHICKEN LITTLE, and upcoming projects in production, which include MEET THE ROBINSONS, AMERICAN DOG and RAPUNZEL. He will also oversee the finance function for DisneyToon Studios.

This newly created position is extremely important as we move into the future, said David Stainton, president, WDFA, who Bacon reports directly to. Bob is both a dynamic leader as well as a big picture strategist. These qualities combined are essential as we continue to pioneer technological advancements that will make our films stand out in the marketplace. Bob has also been instrumental in our financial restructuring putting us on a firm foundation for the future.

Stainton added, I am pleased to have someone of Bobs caliber oversee our production, technology and finance activities.

A 14-year veteran of WDFA, Bacon was svp of production, oversaw production and technology as the Studio converted from 2D to 3D. Before entering into the world of production, Bacon was vp of finance at Feature Animation. He joined The Walt Disney Studios as a financial analyst working on such projects as BEAUTY AND THE BEAST in 1991.
