Al Shier has been promoted to visual effects producer at Venice-based Blur Studio, a 3D animation, visual effects and motion graphics design company. For the past two years at Blur, Sheir has served as a line producer and visual effects coordinator. In his new role, Shier will oversee the production of 2D and 3D visual effects and act as liaison between clients and the company's artistic staff. Shier began producing over a year ago, during which he received numerous producing credits. Currently he is serving as visual effects producer on Stan Lee's "7TH PORTAL 3D Simulation Experience," a 3D-ride film produced by Blur Studio in association with Paramount Studios and Stan Lee Media. He is also working on a project for the Sci-Fi Channel and on the independent film THE CHOSEN ONES. Prior to joining Blur Studio, Shier worked in a freelance capacity at Rhythm & Hues. "Al has made an important contribution to Blur through his ability to manage very complex visual effects projects efficiently," said Blur Studio president Tim Miller. "He works extremely well with our artists and with our clients. We have great confidence in his ability to handle an expanded role."
