Brooks Jewell has been named publicity director for Blue Sky Studios. She will head marketing, advertising and publicity activities relating to the studio, and will also work with the licensing and merchandizing divisions of 20th Century Fox Animation, Blue Skys parent company. Joining Blue Sky in 1998 as a publicity coordinator, Jewell rose to the position of publicity manager, where she played a key role in the studios successful Academy Award campaign for the animated short film BUNNY. Prior to joining Blue Sky, she worked as an investigative and feature reporter for numerous newspapers in Ohio, winning national and regional awards for her news coverage. "Brooks has done a great job elevating the awareness level of Blue Sky Studios in the trades," said Blue Sky VP/CFO Brian Keane. "Her experience as a publicist along with her intimate knowledge of the creative aspects of the studio will be of great benefit in developing the Blue Sky brand in conjunction with the release of ICE AGE." Jewell said, "I am looking forward to expanding my duties here at the studio as we head into this exciting new arena of feature film production.
