Blue Sky animator Chris Williams is attempting to raise $198,000 on Kickstarter for his short film The Sketchbook.
This unique project is based on the incredible true story of a teenager who enlists in the army during the First World War in order to find his father, who is serving in another battalion.
The film will blend 2D and 3D techniques to create a living sketchbook in the style of award-winning illustrator George Pratt.
Williams has worked as an animator or animation supervisor on movies such as Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Wreck-it-Ralph, Epic, and Rio 2, but this is the first short film he will direct. Check out the video from Chris below:
