Blue Room Scores With Promos for 2009 NFL Pro Bowl

New York-based motion graphics, design and production agency, Blue Room NYC created the graphics treatment and edited a trio of promos, a :20, :15 and :10, all with various end tags, for the 2009 NFL Pro Bowl Presented by State Farm that began airing during Super-Bowl Sunday on NBC. The promos were designed to promote the NFL Pro Bowl, "When The NFL elite come together for the 2009 NFL Pro Bowl. Live from Hawaii, February 8th, only on NBC."

Blue Room developed the graphics that utilizes colorful Hawaiian icons: tiki torches, volcanic mountains and lush vegetation to frame the sports action.

"The Pro Bowl is an awesome event that showcases the all-stars in the final game of the year, and in beautiful Hawaii, of course. We worked off of a style guide from the NFL built specifically for the Pro Bowl, which features some amazing cell shaded elements and vibrantly tropical-inspired designs. Utilizing many of those elements we were free to create a fresh, animated narrative, mixing 2D and 3D cell shaded environments. The spot opens with an aerial view of the island, and then takes you directly into the action. Added luau themed symbols to the end-page to taste," explained Brian Aumueller, Creative Director of Blue Room.

"We're excited to have Blue Room developing our Pro Bowl spots again," said Rob Stecklow, NFL Director of Advertising. "It was also another great showing of collaboration from Blue Room and NBC on the production of the spots to really capture the essence of this year end celebration of NFL football."

The spots aired on NBC in the Super Bowl then continued all week in various day parts as well as on the NFL Network.

The Blue Room creative team for this campaign included CEO/Executive Producer Chris Gargani; Creative Director Brian Aumueller; Producer Lauren Muir; Animators/Designers Paul Waszak, Steve Harper, Chieh Yen and Adam Pearlman; and Editor Shaun Sindelman. Brian Aumueller also completed the audio mix.

Blue Room utilized Cinema 4D and Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop and Pro Tools in the execution of this project.

Representing the NFL were NFL Director of Advertising and Media Rob Stecklow, NFL Production Coordinator, Advertising Elizabeth McKeon and NBC Sports Producer/Editor Michael Hennelly.
