Blayney to Head Kids Sales at Celador International

Helen Blayney joins Celador International as senior sales manger, kids division, where she will be responsible for sales of the companys growing portfolio of childrens programming, including ROOBARB & CUSTARD and TALES OF THE RIVERBANK. Blayney reports to Cathy Laughton, who joined London-based Celador Intl in February 2005 as head of kids programming to champion of its new kids division, Celador International Kids.

The 10-year TV distribution vet established the international sales department at Contender Ent. Group where she later became head of international sales, responsible for worldwide sales and business development. Previously she was senior director of European sales in international sales and acquisitions for both TV-Loonland, and The Portgate Media Co., which she co-founded in 1999.

Prior to co-founding Portgate Media, Blayney worked with Laughton at The Jim Henson Co. where she was responsible for a sales turnover of more than £4 million. From 1995 to 1998, she worked in television and video sales for Central & Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean at Primetime Television Assoc.

With Helens vast kids television knowledge and worldwide sales experience she is ideally placed to play a vital role in expanding Celador Intls kids portfolio to become a major player in the kids industry, said Laughton.
