Black Logic Signs Designer/Director Alessandro Swainston

Attracted by his passion for film and food, and a design aesthetic beyond his years, Black Logic has signed Alessandro Swainston as a designer/director, announced vice president and executive producer Karen Stewart. Black Logic is a comprehensive, creative collaboration company offering full-service visual effects, graphic design, high-end compositing, 2D and 3D animation, and complete live-action production. Born in South Africa and schooled in England, Swainston was a Presidential scholarship recipient and honors graduate with B.F.A.s in Film/Video and Motion Graphics, from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He has freelanced for commercial production houses including Mario Bozzone Films, Gate House, Velocity, Salamander and Giant, working on projects for the likes of Coca Cola, Toyota, Daewoo, Mazda, Nissan and South African Airways. A visit to Swainston's Website convinced Stewart of his talent, in particular his title design and his thesis film, AL DENTE, a prequel to a proposed feature about cuisine, cultures and continents, that was filmed in his native South Africa. "AL DENTE was a labor of love merging my two passions in life, food and film. I have been very lucky growing up in restaurants; they have opened the world for me. Film is a way of sharing your tales, a large feast for all to enjoy. Working with the team at Black Logic will bring new challenges with an ever-changing New York backdrop," said Swainston. "We know what it takes to break into the New York market," added Stewart. "While we recognize Alessandro's eye for live-action, the way to get there is to utilize his graphic sensibilities, an easier sell for young talent, and as his reputation becomes established we have every confidence he will find work directing as well as designing."
