Bindass Aids AIDS Prevention

Bindass, India's new youth channel, will join in the campaign to prevent AIDS by playing the acclaimed THREE AMIGOS spots, a series of twenty award-winning PSAs designed to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS. The channel will play the animated condom spots -- which feature three humorous characters who deliver the message that condoms are our friends or "amigos" -- ten times a day.

"We are very excited about THE THREE AMIGOS broadcasting on Bindass," says the channel's CEO Zarina Mehta. "These spots support India's efforts to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and we believe that these engaging messages will substantially contribute to encouraging responsible behaviour amongst our youth audience."

The international campaign is a Canadian-South African co-production involving a large volunteer effort from over 80 international animation professionals. Indian-born Firdaus Kharas of Canada is the director and producer.

THE THREE AMIGOS has received 30 international awards, including a Peabody Award. The PSAs have been translated into 41 languages, including English, Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Bengali and Urdu.

Brand Bindass, a UTV venture, is India's first local comprehensive youth entertainment brand. For more information, visit www.bindass.com.
