Criterion Ltd. & Rick Ungars Brentwood Television Funnies Inc. are producing a brand new animated series of the 1990s hit series, BIKER MICE FROM MARS.
The new BIKER MICE FROM MARS is in pre-production in Los Angeles under the creative supervision of Ungar, creator/exec producer of the original series and numerous other worldwide successes, including X-MEN: EVOLUTION and SPIDER-MAN. The first 26 new half-hour episodes will launch in fall 2006 on GMTV in the U.K and throughout the Nordic region. Broadcast licenses have already been agreed in most European territories, and discussions are underway with North American partners.
The series will be co-produced with the Manila-based, Philippines Animation Studio (PASI), which animated the original 1990s series. PASI will also represent broadcasting, home video and all consumer products rights throughout Asia with the exception of Japan.
The comedic/action series pushes the boundaries by having some fun with iconic business and political figures from around the world. The planet is threatened by all new villains, including the control seeking Cat-atonians, who join forces with a USA-based, overweight real estate developer with a bad haircut.
