Beth Minehart New SVP, International On-Demand Licensing For NBC Universal TV

Beth Minehart has been upped from svp, international integration and planning, to svp, international on-demand licensing for NBC Universal Television Distribution. Minehart will oversee on-demand licensing for NBC Universal's product outside of the U.S. and Canada. She will focus on driving significant revenue growth in the burgeoning on-demand arena, including pay-per-view, video-on-demand and subscription-on-demand through traditional and new platforms including cable, satellite, digital terrestrial television, Internet and mobile.

"Beth is a highly seasoned executive whose knowledge of the international television landscape will help grow our business and break new ground in an evolving marketplace," said Belinda Menendez, president, NBC Universal International Television Distribution, to whom she will report. "She has made significant contributions to the company since joining almost a decade ago, and we couldn't be happier she will be leading our efforts in the international on-demand arena."

"The growth prospects for consumer on-demand viewing habits represent an exciting business opportunity for us," said NBC Universal Television Distribution evp Frederick Huntsberry. "Digital technology will continue to drive rapid introduction of viewing devices, as well as lower the barriers to entry for new on-demand service providers. Beth brings with her a unique combination of market, technology and strategic know-how to assist our current and prospective customers in capturing new revenue opportunities."

A 15-year international TV vet, Minehart first joined Universal in 1997 and worked within several divisions of the company, including international network affiliate sales and worldwide television distribution business development. After the NBC Universal merger in 2004, Minehart was appointed svp within corporate business development to oversee international integration and planning. Prior to joining Universal, she worked for 20th Century Fox, New World Entertainment and Incovent Inc.

The NBC Universal Television Distribution division is responsible for the global distribution of NBC Universal product to all forms of television throughout the world. This includes distribution of current and library film and television product, including formats and non-scripted programming, in the pay, free and basic markets, as well as the domestic syndication of first-run syndicated TV programs and theatrical and TV movie packages.
