BEFILM The Underground Film Festival (BTUFF), previously known as Tribeca Underground Film Festival (TUFF), showcases work in all genres and visual forms that are shorter than 30 minutes in length. Entries may be shot or created in any format film, but will need to be submitted in DVD format only. Entries should have been produced within the last two years. Early deadline is Feb. 15, 2008, second deadline is March 1st, and the final deadline is March 22nd.
The mission of the event is to be a New York City forum for independent filmmakers worldwide. From animation, avant-garde expressionism, documentary, and classic narrative, BEFILM selects the best cinematic expressions to hit the screens. Aiming at becoming the largest short film festival on the East Coast, it provides a cultural and entertaining forum, while recognizing and honoring independent emerging filmmakers through a panel of judges from the entertainment industry that reviews the films and gives the awards.
