Bedazzled Falls To Fourth In Second Week At US BO

After making its initial nod last weekend in second place, the bewitching comedy BEDAZZLED fell to fourth place at the U.S. box office. Coming in behind MEET THE PARENTS, the debut of BLAIR WITCH 2 and REMEMBER THE TITANS, the Elizabeth Hurley devil dance, with primary visual effects by Rhythm & Hues, grossed US$7.83 million, down 41% from its debut, thereby lifting its 10-day cume to $24.15 million. The only other F/X flick in the top ten was the premiere of THE LITTLE VAMPIRE, which flew in at #6. The family fright fest, with primary visual effects by Santa Barbara Studios, grossed $5.72 million. Just slipping out of the top ten to place #11, the reissue of THE EXORIST scared up another $1.59 million. The horror classic, with digital clean-up by Pacific Title Digital, has accumulated $37.22 million thus far. LOST SOULS fell to #13, with a gross of $1.37 million. The antichrist thriller, with primary visual effects by Cinesite and yU + Co, has possessed $15.16 million to date. In at #15, ALMOST FAMOUS rocked its way to an additional $695,384. The 1970s coming of age flick, with primary visual effects by Manex and Pacific Title Digital, has amassed $29.82 million. Closing out the top twenty, DIGIMON: THE MOVIE collected $332,195, lifting its U.S. cume to $9.01 million. Other animated and special effects laden films finishing in the top fifty were: THE PERFECT STORM at #21, with a gross of $316,336 and a cume of $181.7 million; CYBERWORLD 3D at #25, with a gross of $221,941 and a cume of $1.51 million; NUTTY PROFESSOR II: THE KLUMPS at #26, with a gross of $200,320 and a cume of $122.4 million; WHAT LIES BENEATH at #28, with a gross of $181,631 and a cume of $153.9 million; THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS at #29, with a gross of $175,022 and a gross of $50.18 million; CHICKEN RUN at #31, with a gross of $135,414 and a cume of $106.8 million; URBAN LEGENDS: FINAL CUT at #33, with a gross of $120,145 and a cume of $21.25 million; X-MEN at #34, with a gross of $107,631 and a cume of $156.9 million; GONE IN 60 SECONDS at #35, with a gross of $103,415 and a cume of $101.4 million; SPACE COWBOYS at #36, with a gross of $103,329 and a cume of $89.61 million; HOLLOW MAN at #37, with a gross of $95,007 and a cume of $72.99 million; DINOSAUR at #40, with a gross of $75,861 and a cume of $137.3 million; T-REX: BACK TO THE CRETACEOUS at #42, with a gross of $74,887 and a cume of $35.01 million; SCARY MOVIE at #44, with a gross of $72,237 and a cume of $156.2 million; and BLESS THE CHILD at #49, with a gross of $57,267 and a cume of $29.33 million.
