BBB Gives Second Life Company an "F"

THE BUSINESS INSIDER reporter Eric Krangel reports that the Better Business Bureau has given Linden Lab, the company behind SECOND LIFE, an "F."

The BBB cites:

-- Number of complaints filed against business.-- Failure to respond to complaints filed against business.-- Length of time business has taken to resolve complaint(s).

Linden encourages their users to create virtual goods-based businesses with real money inside SECOND LIFE, and the intricacies of dealing with a real-currency microeconomy are complex. Also, Krangel posits that at least some avatars are filing baseless BBB claims for fun. SECOND LIFE has been praised for letting its users meet new people and letting dreams run wild, but the impossibility of running a real, profitable business through it can be very tough.
