Basil Brush Headed for Germany

THE BASIL BRUSH SHOW has been sold to German public service broadcaster ZDF. This deal coincides with Basil's first ever Christmas music single, the double A-side Boom Boom and Christmas Slide that will be released on Dec. 15, 2003 in Germany. The songs will be released in the U.K. on Dec. 8. The 16-year-old singing sensation, India Beau, performs on Boom Boom with Basil. The series will also air on the top rated children's digital channel KIKA, starting fall 2004. As Germany's largest public broadcaster, ZDF, provides BASIL with Europe's largest TV audience of up to 83 million people.

The series airs in the U.K. on BBC1 and CBBC, attracting an audience share of 42% of kids 4-9. Since its Australian launch in September, the show has dominated the ratings in its timeslot with 77% of children 5-12. THE BASIL BRUSH SHOW has also been secured in Indonesia, Singapore, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa and The Middle East.

In addition, like other famous celebs, Basil Brush has insured his bushy foxtail for £1M at London insurance brokers, Lloyds of London. This is part of Basils publicity tour to promote his new TV series, the launch of the DVD, BASIL BRUSH - UNLEASHED! and his new music singles.

Basil comments, "As a young cub I caught my tail in a car door when I was on my way to audition to be part of FOX STARS, you can imagine my distress at having to sing in front of the judges with a bent tail. The memory has stayed with me for life; it is such a relief to know that if this ever happens again at least I will be financially secure!"

The rights to Basil Brush are held by Entertainment Rights PLC, one of the U.K.'s leading media companies specializing in the ownership, development, distribution and merchandising of children's and family programming, characters and brands.
