University of the Arts looking for animation instructors
The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is looking for
part-time ANIMATION INSTRUCTORS to teach both computer (Softimage,
Premiere, Aftereffects, Soundforge, etc. on a Windows NT platform) and
beginning and mid level traditional studio animation courses (drawn and
alternative techniques). Applicants should be capable of offering both
experimental and narrative perspectives. Studio courses meet once a week
for 7 hours at the downtown Philadelphia campus. Travel stipends are
available for NYC or other nearby applicants. Job requirement/skills:
Candidates must have an MFA, MA or related degree in animation or
undergraduate degree with an outstanding record of professional animation
achievement; demonstrated experience in drawn and/or computer animation,
sound and storyboarding; strong interpersonal and collaborative skills; and
dedication to providing quality instruction. Candidates should have
previous professional activity as an animator and artist; knowledge of
animation history; experience with digital ink and paint systems and/or 3D
computer animation; and college-level teaching experience. Jobs starting
Fall 1999.
