Store Specials: Masters Of Russian Animation On DVD And Volume 5 Remastered

"The Masters of Russian Animation," an extraordinary collection of Russia's most important animated short films, is now available on DVD! Volume 1 includes ten films from directors Fyodor Kitruk, Vadim Kurchevsky, Andrei Khrjanovsky, Rasa Strautmane, Yefim Gamburg, Andrei Khrjanovsky, Nikolai Serebryakov and Anatoly Petrov. In All, the Russian collection includes seven videotapes, available individually and in 3- or 7-tape packages. Volume 1 is now available on DVD for $24.95 plus s/h. Volume 2 will be released on DVD on May 16, 2000. Volume 3 in July and Volume 4 in September, 2000 will follow.





"Volume 5 - The Norstein Collection" remastered! All of the films have been digitally restored in Los Angeles under the supervision of Yuri Norstein and his late cinematographer Alexender Zhukovsly. The volume includes all of Norstein's works: "Battle Of Kerjenets" (with Ivanov-Vano), "Rabbit And Fox," "25th - First Day," "Heron And Crane," "Hedgehog In The Fog" and "Tale Of Tales."





The AWN Store also offers Limited Edition Autographed Prints from Yuri Norstein's "Tales of Tales" and "Hedgehog in the Fog." Each print, made in Russia from the drawings Norstein used to develop his characters, is hand-signed by Norstein. Most of the proceeds from sales will go to help finance the ongoing production of "Overcoat," Norstein's famous work in progress. He began "Overcoat," which is based on a famous story by Nikolai Gogol, after completing "Tale of Tales" in 1978. This is a very limited offer and is reasonably priced at $100.00 each.
