On August 15, 1999 a major fire gutted the festival's office. Fortunately,
many items needed to host SAFO 99 have been salvaged or replaced.
Unfortunately, a number of items have been lost including all of the
entrant notification letters regarding this year's Official Competition. At
this stage, the festival organizers are not able to notify rejected
entrants. If you are unsure about the status of your film, please check the
Competition page on the SAFO website. If you're still not convinced, feel
free to give the festival a call (tel. 613-232-8769) or email them at
safo@ottawa.com. Finally, the festival phone and fax lines are working
normally again!
