Well, now that DISTRICT 9 has opened strongly and appears poised to become the sleeper hit of the summer, you can read all about the terrific vfx this week from Image Engine, The Embassy and Weta Digital. In my recent chat with director Neill Blomkamp, he appropriately sang their praises: "So it was kind of cool for me because each company had its very own thing that it was responsible for doing. But the bulk of the visual effects work went into the aliens. Image Engine worked on the film for quite a while and did really good work."

Meanwhile, Boyd Shermis and the good folks at Digital Domain, CIS Hollywood and Prime Focus (formerly Frantic) detail the marvelous work that went into G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA, and David Jones provides insight into the stylish TIME TRAVELER'S WIFE.
