In last month’s Digital Eye, Per Holmes argued why storyboards don’t work anymore, especially for 3D-animated features. Not surprisingly, this provoked a few passionate rebuttals, including an unsolicited article from veteran previs artist and former ILMer Peter Rubin, which you can read in the latest Digital Eye. Meanwhile, Pete Travers, a vfx supervisor at Sony Pictures Imageworks, provides an inside look at the new Adam Sandler fantasy/comedy, CLICK, which opens Friday, June 23. In his exclusive production diary, Travers discusses some of the challenges in creating effects pertaining to the film’s magical “Universal Remote.”
