The 19th Brussels Cartoon and Animated Film Festival takes

place February 28-March 11, 2000. This year, in addition to

its regular program, the festival presents Anima 2000, a

4-day event with various conferences, screenings and panel

discussions. The program includes: "Be Realistic, Demand

The Impossible: Creatives' Dreams," on interactive

animation; "Lucas Arts," on how video game developers see

the role of animators; "Animated Feature Film Day," on

what's involved in developing features; "A New Wave Of

Animators," focusing on new media technologies; A "making

of" lecture by Pinxi, a Brussels real-time animation

studio; "Writing Pictures," a round table with

scriptwriters and animation filmmakers; "The Adventures Of

Authors' Rights In The Land Of Animation;" "Animation In

Brussels, What's New?"; "Video Games: State Of The Art;"

"A Conversation With Ferenc Cako," with a screening of his

films; "A Conversation With Raimund Krumme," who will be

talking about the development of his work in relation to

his latest short, "The Message," which has its European

premiere at the festival; plus, the screening of all the

winners of Imagina 2000's Pixel-Ina Prize. For more
