Brussels 2000: To Be Continued...

This year, in addition to its regular program, the Brussels festival launched Anima 2000, a 4-day event with various conferences, screenings and panel discussions covering such topics as interactive animation, video game development and script writing. This first edition of Anima was a huge success and led to a substantial increase in the number of participants. In addition to top industry guest speakers, other renowned professionals such as Deane Taylor, Georges Lacroix, Steve Walsh and Enzo d'Alo participated in these debates, which will continue at the Annecy Festival next June. The next edition of the Brussels Cartoon and Animation Festival will take place February 20-March 3, 2001 in Brussels.

A "Best of 2000" video cassette, featuring some of the best short films in official selection will be made available shortly by Folioscope. Pic Pic André, which includes two-time winner "Pic Pic André Shoow Quatre Moins Un," is already available in the AWN Store in French language version, PAL (European) format only, for $16.00 plus s/h. The Folioscope catalog includes a rare selection of videos, featuring pioneer Belgian animator Raoul Servais ("Harpya"); a Best of the Brussels Cartoon and Animated Film Festival; and more.
