AWN Forums Are Back Online

As you may already know, AWN's Forums were maliciously hacked last week...

As you may already know, AWN's Forums were maliciously hacked last week. It is the first time in nine years of publishing online that something like this has happened. It was no accident, it was deliberate and it caused us dozens of hours to recover from.

You'll notice that the Forums look very different. Same system, newest version, more security, new look. The biggest difference you'll notice is that we don't yet have our thread history listed. That's coming. The new system, of course, uses a new database structure, so we've had to write custom scripts to translate all our old data into the new system. We're still working on it, so we appreciate your continued patience. The information will slowly start filtering back into the Forums over the next week or so.

Thanks for your understanding and support. I hope we never have to struggle through this type of situation again. There are so many more enjoyable and constructive activities we'd much rather spend our time on.

A special thanks go to our webmaster, MikeD, who is always there to catch the site when something falls down.

Regards,Dan Sarto
